Linwood Signs Two Year ContractArticle Date: 14 May 2008 It is with delight that we can announce the resigning of defender Paul Linwood. Paul has put pen to paper on a new two-year contract this afternoon that will keep City's Player of the Season at the Deva Stadium until 2010. Paul's commitment to the Blues will come as a major boost to fans who feared he could be lured away from the Deva Stadium during the Summer. Defender Paul Linwood began his career as a trainee at Tranmere Rovers in 2002 and went on to make over 30+ league appearances for the Wirral club. In his last season at Prenton Park, the then Tranmere boss Brian Little sent Linwood out on loan to Wrexham where he made 8+1 appearances for our closest rivals. His arrival at City was the subject of a Football League tribunal who adjudged that Rovers should receive a fee for the centre half. Linwood gave some good accounts of himself during his first season at the club and during the last campaign, impressed with his faultless displays in defence. His consistent performances were a big hit with supporters during the 2007-08 campaign and earned the Birkenhead born star City's Player of the Season award.
